Open Review of 601?

Welcome to my blog. Here you’ll find post-class reflections assigned by Professor Dave Lankes for my Syracuse University course, Intro to the Library and Information Profession. And maybe some other mumblings and musings, too. Also maybe a grumble or two.

We spent a few minutes in class last night debriefing our experience in the course IST601 (Information and Information Environments). Check out this MediaCommons Press open review of the refereed journal Shakespeare Quarterly. Wouldn’t this have been just the sort of thing to spur discussion about innovation and peer review during our weekend-long seminar? I know some of my fellow incoming LIS students had some ideas for improving the course. Maybe the professors in charge of designing 601 should post their lesson plan for open review.
